Melbourne Airport T4 Façade Upgrade

Client:
Australian Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd
Architect:
Architectus

Following a competitive tender, FIMMA was contracted to proceed with façade upgrade and refurbishment works to Terminal Four facility at Melbourne Airport.

The scope of works required demolition of an existing façade and replacement with a new contemporary steel structure bulkhead running the full length of the building, clad with a mixture of aluminium composite panels and glass window elements. Associated internal refurbishment works included installation of new window frames, enlarging portal entries to allow for increased foot traffic, significant electrical works, completion of strict border force CCTV security package, roofing and finishing trades including painting.

With works occurring in a high-use live environment and passenger access required to be maintained 24/7, construction was carefully staged and programmed in close partnership with Airport Authorities.
