Melbourne Airport T2 Check-In Zones MNO

After decommissioning and stripping out the existing check-in counters and retail tenancies, FIMMA commenced construction of these new multi-point check-in kiosks, service desks and baggage drop system for Zones MNO.

The scope of works included installation of terrazzo floors, bespoke joinery, feature partition walls, and a major extension and reconfiguration of the baggage conveying system. Services works to allow for the refurbishment included relocating main switch boards, communications equipment, BMS control boards and hydraulics services. New wayfinding, corporate signage and lighting completed the fit-out.

Difficulties that were encountered, requiring detailed planning included isolating services whilst ensuring continuation of work zone access for airport staff and passenger departure service areas in a live environment. Working within the airport, our team overcame logistical challenges and security protocols, requiring strict compliance to Airport policies and procedures.
