Melbourne Airport T2 Check-In Zone P

Continuing our collaboration with Australian Pacific Airports from five previous stages, FIMMA were awarded the opportunity to complete Zone P refurbishments, the latest phase of the International Departures Hall upgrade.

Completed over a 9-month period, Zone P scope of works included demolition of existing retail tenancies, installation of a new structural steel gantry and baggage conveyor along and over Airside Road, relocation of existing building services, installation of new baggage handling systems, electrical services, air conditioning and fire services upgrades. Specified materials for the fit-out included terrazzo floor finishes, pressed aluminium tiles for the ceiling, porcelain and timber wall finishes and bespoke joinery to check-in areas.

The project was carried out whilst maintaining normal operations airside and landside, with minimal impact to airline operations, passenger check-in procedures, and baggage handling systems. All works were completed within the fluid and busy live environment of Melbourne Airports Departures Hall.
