Client:
Department of Education & Training (VSBA)
Architect:
AOA Christopher Peck

Completed in November 2020, this project included delivery of a new 860sqm competition size indoor basketball court/gymnasium and repurposing of the existing school gymnasium into a state-of-the-art S.T.E.M Centre, complete with food technology kitchens and new mezzanine level fitted out with new computer facilities.

The structure of the new gymnasium incorporates a suspended concrete slab on screw piles and steel portal framing. Installation of new hard and soft landscape surrounding the S.T.E.M Centre and new Gymnasium was also part of the scope, including multiple new paths, garden beds, playground areas with installation of new equipment, planters, and innovative street furniture.

This project was delivered in close collaboration with the design team and key stakeholder input from the school faculty. An official opening ceremony was held in March 2021, attended by The Member for Carrum Ms Sonya Kilkenny, School Principal and FIMMA delivery team.
