Pakenham Consolidated School Upgrade (Under Construction)

Client:
Department of Education & Training (VSBA)
Architect:
Ardent Architects

This multi-staged upgrade, modernisation and expansion project at Pakenham Consolidated School for The VSBA, will see our project team deliver a mix of both new and refurbished fit-for-purpose facilities for both staff and student cohorts to enjoy. The scope of work requires delivery of three key buildings.

Separable portion one, delivery of a new Block F building, involves initial works to relocate existing tables, benches and stage, demolition and removal of existing concrete walkways and trees, followed by construction of the new facility. Block F will provide four shared learning zones, separated by stackable operable walls, with associated staff offices.

Separable portion two requires construction of a new Block G (Hop) building, adjacent to an existing portable structure. Early works require existing vegetation removed, then construction of a steel framed new building, featuring polished concrete slab, brick and corrigated steel cladding facade, and plywood panel lined interior walls and ceiling.

Following delivery of both new buildings, an existing administration building, Block B, will undergo a significant interior refurbishment, delivering a mix of new informal teaching and circulation spaces, staff amenities and offices, conference and consulting rooms, kitchen and food preparation zones, and first-aid facility.

Delivery will be in collaboration with Superintendents L+R and Ardent Architects, with a key focus of maintaining access for staff and parents from Rundell Way, and strict safety measures with regard to an existing childcare center.
