FIMMA Constructions completed this major upgrade and modernisation project at Lilydale Heights College forThe VSBA, representing stage 3 of the campus redevelopment. Funded through a 2020-21 State Budget allocation of just over $11 million, as part of The Lilydale and Upper Yarra Education Plan, the works will provide Staff and Students with both new and upgraded facilities for S.T.E.A.M studies. The scope of work requires delivery over two stages.

Separable portion one involves an initial demolition and strip out of the north section of an existing Arts & Technology Building (E-Wing), then delivery of a full new fit-out including ICT labs, flexible learning spaces, digital maker classrooms with 3D printers, machine room including high tech CNC capability, design and collaboration classrooms, laptop stations, student breakout and locker areas, staff offices, upgraded store/comms room, and staff amenities.

Separable portion two requires demolition of the existing B Wing Building, then construction of a new Science & Maths Building featuring home economics classrooms, dry goods and prep store, cafe and dining area, science labs with linked preparation and storage areas, general-purpose classrooms, breakout spaces, staff offices and student amenities. A substantial landscaped area with elaborate brick paving, concrete pathways, and native flora will also be delivered, creating new outdoor learning and gathering spaces and a key feature of the campus.

Delivery of the works will require close communication with both School representatives and other Contractors already on-site to minimise our impact on campus activities as much as possible.
