Glowrey Catholic Primary School Redevelopment Stage Two

Client:
Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne
Architect:
Baldasso Cortese

Completed in close collaboration with the design team, this project required the delivery of a new single storey, single-skin, glazed brick veneer school building representing stage two of an overall masterplan for the redevelopment of Glowrey Catholic Primary School in Wollert.

The scope of works included delivering the new building, with features including 9 additional classrooms, 4 small group spaces, colourful breakout spaces and large project room, new amenities, storage, large plant enclosure and significant shaded loggia space with undercover seating.

Also required was the installation of new hard and soft landscape surrounding the existing and new school buildings, including new concrete pathways with canopy, new synthetic sports field, new playground space with shade sails, exterior furniture, and replacement of tree protection zones for several existing mature trees within the campus. Minor upgrade works to an existing civil drainage system was also required to align with new Council requirements.

As evidence of our high level of quality and delivery, the design team received an award at the 2021 LEA Victoria Learning Environments Awards, winning Category 3 New Individual Facility Under $8M. FIMMA are proud to have been part of the delivery team in bringing this project to fruition.
