Dunlop Sports Pavilion

City of Stonnington
Williams Ross Architects

After demolishing the majority of the existing facility, FIMMA was able to commence construction of the new pavilion. The design took into account the opportunity to show case the building while completing the idyllic parklands.  The new construction enables spectators and timekeepers alike to view the sporting grounds and beyond.

The featured timber and aluminium clad structure has full-height glass panels to the first floor which sees the building complement its surrounds, while ample natural light floods the function area within.  Access to the building is via a suspended covered bridge and the full construction was carried out whilst the sports ground and railway carpark remained in full service.

Functions are fully catered for with bar, commercial kitchen and a kiosk for the sports days. Amenities for home and away teams, umpires and the general public are supported by the administration areas for the club.
