Funded by The Victorian State Government, through the 2020-21 Infrastructure Planning and Acceleration fund with an allocation of $7.157 million, The VSBA is undertaking this redevelopment project at Mount Waverley Secondary College to assist the College to accomplish long-standing planning goals across both their existing Junior and Senior School campuses.

Following a robust post-tender value management and redesign period, in close collaboration with Superintendent Johnstaff Projects, BKK Architects, and other key consultants, FIMMA was awarded this exciting S.T.E.A.M project (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) located at the Senior School Campus off Lechte Road.

The scope of works requires initial demolition activities to remove existing buildings and structures, excavation and site benching works, installation of new underground services for the new building from an existing power supply at the Gordon Rd entrance, then construction of a new, innovative two-story S.T.E.A.M Centre.

The proposed new building will include science labs, technology workshops, visual communication and both 2D/3D art studios, multipurpose classrooms, informal breakout areas, staff offices and storage spaces, DDA compliant lift and circulation spaces, bespoke ground floor courtyard, and extensive additional civil and landscaping works surrounding the new centre.

Additional fire and water services upgrade works along the South and East boundaries of the campus are also required as part of the overall project delivery. These works are programmed to occur predominately during term break periods to avoid disruptions on campus as much as possible.
