Rowellyn Park Primary School New Gymnasium and S.T.E.M Centre

Client:
Department of Education
Architect:
AOA Christopher Peck

This exciting, innovative project included delivery of a new 860sqm competition size indoor basketball court and gymnasium, and subsequent repurposing and refurbishment of the existing school gymnasium into a state-of-the-art S.T.E.M centre, complete with food technology kitchens and a new mezzanine level, fitted out with new modern furniture and technology facilities.

The structure of the new gymnasium incorporates a suspended concrete slab on screw piles and steel portal framing.

Installation of new hard and soft landscape surrounding the S.T.E.M centre and the new gymnasium was also part of the scope, including multiple new pathways, garden beds, playground areas with installation of equipment, planters and innovative street furniture.

This project was delivered in close collaboration with Architects AOA Christopher Peck and Senior School Faculty, who advised that all staff, students and wider school community are very happy with the outcome.
