Duncan Mackinnon Reserve Sports Pavilion

City of Glen Eira
Mantric Architecture

The multi-purpose pavilion has a 500-seat grandstand overlooking the popular Athletics track. An elevated Netball spectator seating area compliments the athletics areas and each week hundreds of sportspersons use the pavilion and its amenities.  Functional areas of the building include conference and social rooms, meeting room, kitchen facilities change rooms and amenities.  The ground floor has provision for umpires, athletics and netball team change rooms and amenities, storage for various user groups and a kiosk facility.

Externally the fabric of the pavilion is made up of coloured glazed bricks in a stack bond arrangement which compliments the vibrant vitranamel cladding in showcasing the state-of-the-art building.

As part of the upgrade FIMMA installed new infrastructure which included rainwater harvesting for use in the amenities. Along with implementation of a Building Management System which records energy performance and statics to ensure environmentally friendly outcomes.
